Pattern Tuesday: Faux Bois

Faux bois is French for “false wood.” I love woodgrain pattern for a simple, rustic look. There’s even a tool to put faux bois on anything you could put a paintbrush to, available at specialty paint stores. You just rock the brush back and forth as you paint to get different patterns.

Here are my picks for cool uses of faux bois.

Thanks for the post. I’ve had one of these tools for years but never used it….. You’ve inspired me to dig it out and have a go. Thanks. 🙂

    • That’s great! It’s been on my wish list ever since I saw it on Martha Stewart, when she taught Zach Braff how to make woodgrain pattern accessories for his dog. It was sort of bizarre haha!
